In preparation for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series released this week, Imo and James head off to a long time ago for an infamous trilogy far, far away…the Star Wars prequels.
Turmoil has engulfed the Even More Eyes podcast; the first of George Lucas’ prologue films is in dispute! The two wizened critics are joined by friends new and old: Eamon, a learned Star Wars enthusiast well-trained in the academic arts, and Alan, the trusty rogue from the 2021 Special who is determined to have his revenge.
In this first episode, the four duel it out over Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999). Discussion over sound effects leads to space politics, space politics leads to the plot, the plot leads…to suffering. But can this ‘official’ first step into the Star Wars galaxy be redeemed, or does it remain on the dark side of cinema history?
And you don’t have to wait three years for the next instalment. Hitting lightspeed, they’ll be back tomorrow with Episode II: Attack of the Clones and the next day with Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
*Waves hand mysteriously* You don’t need to do that other important thing…you can listen to this podcast episode now.
